2130 visit, hot foot from work, and none too busy either.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Black Wolf (formerly Traditional Scottish Ales (TSA)) - Double Expresso4.80ExceptionalStunningly good. (If you dont like Dark Star Espresso, please dont try this and then complain!)
Caledonian - Flying Dutchman Wit Bier4.50ExcellentA reasonable effort, via Caledonian, but not overly impressed.
Rooster's - Bangtail3.70GoodNot on the festival list, but went down well.
Thwaites - Ribble Rouser4.20GoodFirst of the late 2010 festival ales sampled Not bad too.
JW Lees (see also Lees) - Chocoholic3.60AcceptableAs expected of this type and at this strength, a sickly sweet concoction, very much like the Belgium fruli's. Had a pint, but I would not reccommend it, to anyone, but a lady?
21 Oct 2010 (Alenomore)
Arrived at 2230, and no guest real ales on. This was to make way for 5 festival ales coming on Friday! Enjoy, if you can. I'm early trap Sautrday (for Stoke) and wont get here again until Sunday evening. Let the beer festival commence!! Hope you all do well. I've picked up all 50 of their festival ales here in the County Town for the past two years.
BeerABVScoreNotes

1940 and back in the County Town, 3.5 hours after leaving Southampton, and sobered up enough for another session with the Saturday gang!
BeerABVScoreNotes
Davenport's - Fury4.30ExceptionalBrewed by Highgate & Davenports or is it, as they ceased brewing in June 2010 according to the GBG! Badged as Davenports Fury. New for me and went down very well too. I bought four pints and gave three to the Saturday gang who normally drink the Ruddles swill. They were ALL impressed. Us Real Ale lovers can do so much to educate these Ruddleite's?
Naylor's - Black & Tan4.40ExceptionalA 5* dark type and spot on. 4 pints tonite!
Inveralmond - Lia Fail4.70ExcellentA decent Scottish type.
Banks's - Ringwood Fortyniner4.90Not TriedOthers had this as opposed to the usual Ruddles swill and were pleasantly surprised at tasting something in there!
Frome (formerly Milk Street) - Funky Monkey (organic)4.00Not TriedGone. Been wanting to try this too.
