2300 and several new ales on. Thankfully, these 1/3 measure glasses were very welcome at the end of this 5 hour crawl!
BeerABVScoreNotes
Hilden - Scullion's Plain Porter4.20ExceptionalOn top form tonite and went down very well at the Bewitching hour....
Mordue - Coriander 18794.90ExcellentThis, as expected, was a real fruity/spicy treat.
Coach House - Regency Best Bitter4.00GoodA light type, very refreshing.
JW Lees (see also Lees) - Chocoholic3.60Not Tried
Marston's - Lion Stout5.00Not Tried
Wychwood (now brewed at Banks's) - King Goblin (superseded by 6.6% version)6.00Not Tried
Evan Evans - Winter Glory4.30Not TriedAlas, needed this but was sold out!
30 Oct 2010 (Alenomore)
Just after midnight and still a decent crowd in. Little choice tonite, so another Real Cider tried as well.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Marston's - Lion Stout5.00AcceptableStill not impressed.
Caledonian - Edinburgh Real Ale4.20Not TriedNeeded this, but told they were cleaning the line!
York (now brewed by and at Black Sheep) - Rye Humour4.50Not TriedAgain, told it was not available!
30 Oct 2010 (Ian)
Late morning/early lunch. Came for breakfast. Service was amazingly slow. Sat and used the free wireless to type up some beer stuff and enjoy the wedding in the church across the road.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Caledonian - Edinburgh Strong Ale6.40ExcellentVery deep brown/gold burnished I guess. Thick lasting cream head. It’s a strong fruity tasting ESB. Quite bitter on finish. It’s pretty good to be honest. I liked it.
York (now brewed by and at Black Sheep) - Rye Humour4.50AcceptableCopper clear. Thick beige head. It’s a decent bitter. Bit of minerality on the finish. Yep it’s an ok minerally bitter. Fine
Everards (see entries against Joule's & Robinsons whilst its new brewery was being built) - Birra del Borgo Castagnale4.40AcceptableDark brown colour thick lasting beige head. Some caramel and toffee. Not much if any nuts. It’s a toffeeish best bitter. Not huge hop finish. Fine
29 Oct 2010 (Alenomore)
2130 and a couple of changes tonite. The Real Cider and Perry that I sampled went down well too!
BeerABVScoreNotes
Maxim - Phoenix Rising4.50ExcellentNot bad at all. Had two pints and ok.
Clark's (sometimes shown as Westgate Brewery) - Straight Flush4.00AcceptableFrom "condemned", the night before here, to "acceptable", just! Took some effort to get a full pint, very lively, and, nothing special to note either.
Lincolnshire Craft (formerly Tom Wood's) - Tom Woods Vanilla Orchid4.80Not Tried
28 Oct 2010 (Alenomore)
2300 and only one change tonite. One ale, Clark's Straight Flush, was "condemned" here apparently. Also tried another excellent Real Cider.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Wadworth - Pixley Black6.00ExceptionalSpot on again.
Palm - Steenhuffel Blond4.60AcceptableNot overly impressed, not much going on,no lingering taste. Putting, what should be a very good Belgium beer into an English handpull type cask, doesen't work well in my opinion.
Moorhouse's - Pendle Witches Brew5.10Not Tried
Lincolnshire Craft (formerly Tom Wood's) - Tom Woods Vanilla Orchid4.80Not Tried
27 Oct 2010 (Alenomore)
2330, on form here too and just time for two "nightcaps" including a Real Cider.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Lincolnshire Craft (formerly Tom Wood's) - Tom Woods Vanilla Orchid4.80ExcellentVery pleasant taste. Just needs a 99' flake to top it off!
JW Lees (see also Lees) - Chocoholic3.60Not Tried
Everards (see entries against Joule's & Robinsons whilst its new brewery was being built) - Coppernob4.50Not Tried

2300. No changes but some new ales will be on for Wednesday, including the 6.0% King Goblin! Also sampled a festival Real Perry tonite and very good too.
BeerABVScoreNotes

24 Oct 2010 (Alenomore)
2215 and fairly quiet, but four more festival ales on kept me here until mid-night! (No time for the Pot' tonite?)
BeerABVScoreNotes
Black Wolf (formerly Traditional Scottish Ales (TSA)) - Double Expresso4.80ExceptionalNight-cap time and not disappointing either.
Titanic - New York Wheat Porter4.20ExceptionalTop class and in top condition here tonite.
Greene King - Bretwalda4.10ExcellentSurprisingly, coming from one of Britains most hated brewers, this ale was pretty good.
Shepherd Neame - Cinque Ale4.10GoodA new ale from Britains oldest brewer! Not quite sure what other Shep's ale this one reminded me of. Much more hoppier than Shep's usual swill. Being a nationwide beer festival, this ale will not have come from the micro-brewery for sure!
Hanlons (formerly O'Hanlon's) - Dragon's Ale4.50GoodAll the way from Devon and went down well too.
23 Oct 2010 (Alenomore)
Arrived here at 2115, exceactly three hours after leaving Stoke, heaving at the bar, no ale changes from the last posting, so departed and returned after 2230.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Black Wolf (formerly Traditional Scottish Ales (TSA)) - Double Expresso4.80ExceptionalTwo pints devoured?
