Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

The Holt, Honiton, Devon

Magnus GreelExcellent05 Jul 2019 Oaky smoky and peaty for such a light but complex beer. Very good indeed.

IanGood02 Apr 2009 Pale gold, lasting white head, makes it look like a lager. Nice enough, soft in mouth, some grapefruit. Bit of juiciness, just enough hop. Decent

Martin the MildmanExcellent13 Oct 2010 Pale and hoppy but with an excellent background of biscuity malt. The finish is a good mix of malt and hop. My score 16/20.

AndrewGood11 Sep 2008 I liked this and it was in really good condition. It was a rich golden colour with a hint of lemon curd in the aroma. The body was rich with hints of lemon curd and wheat. The finish had a mellow leafy hop bite to it. I can't imagine doing a session on it (due to its syrupy body) but its a nice beer.
IanNot Tried24 Aug 2008
BrianGood15 Aug 2008 Hazy golden colour, creamy head. Aroma of tinned peaches or pears and a little citrus. Taste was pear drops and banana, nice if a little sweet.
