Time for a curry to soak up those earlier beers before hitting the buffers closer to home at the River Ale House in East Greenwich. I was stunned by the size of the selection of real ale guest beers from this Wetherspoons and the most impressive I have seen on visits to various "Spoons". I counted no less than 7 guest beers! Located at St Pancras Station, it is also so handy for the Thameslink train to parts of south-east London via London Bridge or by also changing there. Despite being a busy venue for train travellers even mid-evening on a Saturday, I found a table and importantly a seat still by the table and so reserved this care of my coat for the "Ruby Murray" and guest ale.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Hadrian and Border - Secret Kingdom4.30GoodWhat better choice than a ruby ale to accompany a "Ruby Murray". This Newcastle Upon Tyne beer had good head and lacing. It was fruity and ever so spicy on the first hit and was primed to do battle with the spices in the curry. A dry and not sweet mouthfeel pervaded and with a maltiness lingering.

Early afternoon and fairly quiet so plenty of space available both inside and out. Surly and miserable service from the bar staff today.

Late afternoon and busy as expected I met a group of friends already here and they had fortunately bagged a table. We had intentions of heading off to some 'real' pubs but decided to stay put until our late evening depature home. Once again enjoyed the superb freshly cooked pizzas which made the perfect beer fodder! I've omitted bothering to list the usual boring national blands available.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Portobello - JPA4.20ExcellentPale ale brewed with whole leaf Japanese Green Tea.

Twickenham (also uses sub-brand Old Hands) - Naked Ladies4.40GoodMy friend questioned this as flavourless and bland to which I stated 'that's how its meant to taste'!

Mid evening busy, I found a table by the window and enjoyed one of JDW's excellent spicy meat feast pizzas with extra chillies, mushrooms and red onions. Ordered on the app and arrived a few minutes later with my beer, superb service.
