Very busy in the peak 6-7pm after work session.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Redemption - Pale Ale3.80AcceptableNot in the best of condition, which seems to be emphasising the malt flavours and suppressing the hop tastes.

Early evening visit and some of the worst elements of City culture are present. Luckily they all shove off home after a while and the pub takes on a nicer atmosphere.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Truman's - UK Gold4.30ExcellentServed a little too cold here and has a bit of a chill haze. But obviously a really good, golden beer with a balanced taste and excellent hops.
Truman's - US Pale4.60ExcellentFirst class, fruity, sharp, pale beer.
Shepherd Neame - Samuel Adams Blonde Ambition4.50GoodGolden and a bit hazy. Soft mouthfeel and an interesting, light hop taste that is heading towards lager territory.

In here at around 8:30pm, as the after-work crowds were beginning to thin out. Beer over £4 a pint, so I played my joker and had this pint for free, cashing in a Nicholsonís loyalty card (buy four, get one free).
BeerABVScoreNotes
Great Heck - Yakima IPA7.40ExceptionalOutstanding, strong, amber-coloured beer. It has a smooth malt base and a long list of brilliant hops, including Citra, Simcoe, cascade, Centennial, Willamette, etc..

Crowded in the after-work period, with many people sitting outside, despite the appreciably cooler weather today. A standard Nicholsonís place really.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Rooster's - Welsummer (exclusively for Nicholson's)4.50AcceptableThis pint was served rather too green and had a harshly bitter taste with none of the fruitiness and balance that I noted before.
