08 Aug 2013 (Philip Pirrip)
2nd evening visit after unsuccessful jaunt to pub across the road. By now one of the Hartley Morris Men was singing along to his banjo with a very melodious and soulful voice.
Mauldons - Black Adder | 5.30
Hammerpot - Red Hunter | 4.30 | | Flat as a proverbial pancake and little condition |
Canterbury Brewers - Little Red Rye | 4.50 | Not Tried
08 Aug 2013 (Philip Pirrip)
Mid evening visit. Good crowd in including some Broadstairs Folk Festival campers doubling as members of the Hartley Morris Men side. Not sure if the massive array of pump clips adorning and obscuring the pub windows is such a good idea.
Canterbury Brewers - Little Red Rye | 4.50 | | Not really to my palate |
Mauldons - Black Adder | 5.30 | Not Tried
Hammerpot - Red Hunter | 4.30 | Not Tried
01 Aug 2013 (Pedro)

Brentwood - Hero | 3.80 | | |
Dartford Wobbler (re-named from Millis) - Kentish Gold | 4.10

Partners - IPA | 5.00 | Not Tried
02 Jan 2013 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit with an accompanying initiate to this house. Meets all requirements of a Micropub and if one suggestion might be made it would be that some soft furnishings / curtains / blinds might dampen the noise levels even when a few are in.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Host's Ale (superseded by 5.2% version) | 4.70 | | The brewery's Christmas ale with spice overtones |
Milestone - Olde English Ale | 4.90 | | Rather bland |
Dark Star - Hophead (some has also been brewed by Fuller's) | 3.80 | Not Tried
30 Nov 2012 (ChrisE)
Friday evening and I was pleased to see the pub very busy despite it being the opening night of the Thirty-Nine Steps in town. A good crowd of people and the Kentish cheeses were selling very well.
Canterbury Brewers - Street Light Porter | 5.80 | | Superb |
Royal Tunbridge Wells - Helles | 5.00 | Not Tried | Advertised as Spa Helles. |
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Pardoner's Ale | 3.80 | Not Tried
21 Sep 2012 (ChrisE)
We arrived just after 12:00 and were the first customers, we had a good chat with the landlord, and with a chap that is hoping to open another micro-pub in Thanet.
Oakleaf (now see Fallen Acorn entries) - Pompey Royal | 4.50
Canterbury Brewers - Canterbury Haka | 4.10
Titanic - Nautical Mild | 4.80 | Not Tried
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Pardoner's Ale | 3.80 | Not Tried
04 Sep 2012 (Ian)
I had nothing better to do so came to Broadstairs for first time in ages and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Gold Top here was worth the second pint. Sat talking about dogs battle re-enactments and Sheffield. My type of pub.
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Gold Top | 4.30 | | Enough pale malt to keep it solid and the hop was really good and bitter and rewarded your attention |
Titanic - First Class | 3.80 | Not Tried
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Pardoner's Ale | 3.80 | Not Tried
24 Aug 2012 (Blair)
First visit to Thanet's latest micropub. Good crowd of people in and a warm welcome from the landlord. The only issue was that it seems to get very noisy very easily because of the hard walls I suppose, small niggle...
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - DogBolter Dark Porter | 5.60 | | Yup, tip top. |
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Red Top | 3.80 | | In perfect condition. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - She Sells Sea Shells | 4.70 | Not Tried
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Pardoner's Ale | 3.80 | Not Tried
10 Aug 2012 (ChrisE)
For the benefit of anybody who hasn't got a clue where St Peters is, this pub is a short walk from Broadstairs Railway Station. I popped in soon after 12:00 and there were already a couple of chaps enjoying a pint. I picked up a copy of the new edition of the Thanet Loop Pub Guide which is so up to date that it includes both this pub and the Chapel. This was the first full day of opening and there was lots of interest from passers by.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Summer's Day | 4.30
Wold Top - Anglers Reward Pale Ale | 4.00
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Miller's Ale (originally 4.5%) | 4.20 | Not Tried
