Excellent brewpub. Too full for our liking. A man with a big bum was boasting how his bum was all over the papers this weekend because he had it painted like a pumpkin. No one had seen it however.Apart from me who saw it on Saturdays Jonathan Ross show! Wish I hadnt.
| Four Candles - All Black IPA | 4.50 | | Read about this on their facebook page. Their first Dark beer. Wow. Simply stunning. |

About 12:30 on a Saturday and all tables were occupied. Lots of conversation about micropubs and plans for a new one at Northwood which is "on the Loop" the Loop being the name for a very frequent circular 'bus route in Thanet.

I dashed to get here before 2.30pm closing but I could have taken it easy as the pub was staying open all afternoon. Some people who left the Yard of Ale before me wondered how I managed to get here before them, well sometimes it is quicker on foot.

I was the first customer in at opening time, but before long I was joined by others, and in true micro-pub tradition everybody was talking to each other. The landlord gave me a progress report on the micro-brewery which is currently being installed in the cellar. Unfortunately I have mislaid my notes on the beers, so no report this time, sorry.

Evening. Half a dozen or so in. Wonder what effect the opening of the nearby Yard of Ale Micropub will have. Will business levels support both.

2nd evening visit after unsuccessful jaunt to pub across the road. By now one of the Hartley Morris Men was singing along to his banjo with a very melodious and soulful voice.

| Hammerpot - Red Hunter | 4.30 | | Flat as a proverbial pancake and little condition |
| Canterbury Brewers - Little Red Rye | 4.50 | Not Tried | |
