The pub is found in Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG24 1BE.

Formerly the Crown & Mitre in Castle Gate. Opened in its new incarnation on Monday 14th April 2014. Pub themes include Monty Python, early flight and circuses. The refurbishment has created quite a lot of space and the chance has been taken to add an internal balcony. There is an extensive outside paved area to the side of the pub. 6 handpumps on the bar counter for real ale and cider. Lined glasses in use here. Furnishings are an eclectic mix and decoration includes Monty Python's Flying Circus references and model planes hanging from the ceiling. Food offerings are in a pre-prepared charcuterie range. There is a large "gig" / function room on the 1st floor and a recently added "Barrel House" bar in the outside yard from which beers and ciders, served on gravity, may be ordered from the main bar too. Outside the pub advertises craft ales and currently has a number of "specialist" fizz fonts.

We have visited this pub 41 times, seen 113 different beers and tried 44 of them.
