Just a quick half in the mid-evening.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Wadworth - Fat Head's Rocket Man5.20AcceptableReddish-brown beer with fruity, caramel malt tastes and a bitter finish. Not sure that I liked it very much.

A very swift mid-evening half.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Arundel - Wild Heaven5.20ExcellentAmber-coloured. I confess to having avoided Arundel beers for years, fearful of a buttery taste that I associate with that brewery. But this was excellent. Intense bitter hop.

I’m still GBG 2015 surveying and there was a chance for a quick half in here. Unfortunately, it was a duffer.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Acorn - Winter Pale Ale4.50PoorServed warmish and cloudy. I’m sure that there is a good, or even excellent beer in here somewhere, but it was not on show tonight.

My first visit since this pub re-opened after refurbishment. It is very striking. I’m not convinced that the mix of classic décor and modern furnishings really works. I guess it will take some getting used to. The toilets have been moved back to their earlier location.

It seems that this pub lays on the direct route between Poland, Stansted Airport and Wembley Stadium. Packed in the early evening. I suspect that Zywiec stocks are now running low. Rapidly emptying by 7pm as everyone either headed to the stadium or realised the sheer ghastliness of being stranded in a pub with no TV.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Moorhouse's - White Mist4.20ExcellentA pale, clear, wheat beer. Not too wheaty or yeasty, but refreshing.
Wadworth - Abita Brewing Restoration Pale Ale5.20ExcellentGolden and full-bodied with tasty hops.
JW Lees (see also Lees) - Cora3.90AcceptableTending towards blandness. Quite fruity. Dry finish.
Wadworth - WTF What The Fuggles5.00AcceptableI’m not fully up to speed on modern-day text speak – but I’m told that everybody will know that ‘WTF’ stands for “What the Fuggles”. This pint was not as full-bodied as you would expect for a 5%-er. It has biscuit malt and some Fuggles hop character.

11:15 - 16:20 Yet another reunion of former work colleagues. I went to London for the day and never left Liverpool Street. I thought the choice of beer was poor, not enough session beers available. I raised this with the Manager but he seemed to think the choice was OK.
