03 Nov 2012 (Alenomore)
19:00 visit. Even quieter tonite in this, the towns first JD. One new ale noted.
| White Horse - War Horse | 4.90 | | What a lovely ale. Dark, full flavoured, with very pronounced caramel and toffee notes. Top condition here tonite for this new ale. |
| JW Lees (see also Lees) - Moonraker | 6.50 | | The lovely young and very knowledgable serving wench was very keen for me to try this. She was enthusiastic and able to describe each ale on tonite. Not often you meet a woman this young who know's there ales! This sample, as per Mr Pirrips' notes, is a stonker of an ale. Top condition here with a lovely clinging frothy head. Always good to sample this one. |
| St Peter's - Fruit Beer Grapefruit | 4.70 | | I tried to "convince" the lovely young serving wench that this is an excellant breakfast tipple. She was not impressed... |

| Caledonian - Tree Brewing Thirsty Beaver | 5.00 | | A new ale, and very good too. Distinct, Cally dark ale taste. The second pint was even better. |
| Okell's - Steam Beer | 5.00 | | Came on and pulled through at 23:00. Fair but not convincing. The tasting notes "big upped" this ale. Maybe another sample further down the cask would be more interesting. |
