Extremely busy Friday evening. They had a beer festival on, and there were forty beers available, sixteen on handpump, and the rest on gravity. I have not been able to list them all.

BeerABVScoreNotes
Tower - Black Tower Stout4.20ExcellentMore like a mild than a stout, with low bitterness and lots of sweet, chocolate, toffee and coffee malt flavours. Little in the way of hop presence in this, and a long chocolatey malt finish. My score 17/20 for an excellent strong mild.
Castle Rock - Glow Worm5.30ExcellentBilled as a "Wee Heavy Dark Scotch Ale" this didn't disappoint. Full bodied, sweet and malty with toffee and caramel notes and a little fruity hoppiness in the finish. My score 17/20.

BeerABVScoreNotes
Black Country - Pig on the Wall Mild4.30ExcellentOn form here with a smooth rounded taste of sweetish malt and light hoppiness. Good malty finish. My score 16/20.

BeerABVScoreNotes
Mallinsons - Harold4.20GoodVery hoppy but well balanced golden ale with a dry finish. My score 15/20
Arbor Ales - Brigstow Bitter4.30AcceptableVery bitter with a bitter malty/nutty flavour as well as hoppiness. Not a favourite taste of mine. My score 11/20.

The pub is found in Birmingham, West Midlands, B2 5SN.

City centre pub close to New Street and Snow Hill railway stations. Popular as it offers up to 16 beers on 17 handpumps on the downstairs bar counter, which can be asked for by handpump number and are all displayed on an overhead TV screen which lists abv, price and a beer colour code. There are also 3 cider handpumps on the back counter of the downstairs bar. In April 2013 underwent major building alterations to add a bar to the first floor. This upstairs facility has 7 more handpumps and there is a large function room and an outside terrace and an outside heated smoking "tent" upstairs too. The pub offers the opportunity to bring your own food and it will supply the crockery and cutlery.

We have visited this pub 47 times, seen 239 different beers and tried 82 of them.
