The character is that of a strong mild with sweet malt flavours and a lowish hop rate and bitterness. Fruitiness comes through in the slightly vineous finish. My score 16/20. |

The pub is found in Southwark, Central London, SE1 1TY.
Replacement for old Wheatsheaf round the corner during that pub's period of closure. Called The New Wheatsheaf until the old Wheatsheaf re-opened. This used to be called the Hop Cellars and is a cellar bar type pub. Free of tie, it now has a good selection of guest beers, including an Eagle Young's brand beer. Up to 6 cask beers available.
