A few loud ones using bad language in. Unusual for a micro. Landlord and young bar girl not impressed with them and they apologised after being told to keep it down. Excellent beer in here.

I had been to Margate earlier but the place was extremely busy so I hopped on a bus to Ramsgate, my first stop was here, all the tables were occupied so I shared with a couple that had recently moved in to the area and chatted about Manston airport.

Evening. First time I have had a good chat with the Guv about his Kentish brewery artefacts. His old Tomson & Wotton lorry dray Allbright 3D smiling face must be rarer than hens' teeth.

Second pub of the day, I noted that an enamel Tomson & Wotton advertising sign has recently appeared in the bar. We could not stay as long as we would have liked because we needed to get to the next pub before afternoon closing time.

Evening. Just about secured a corner seat. Busier than on any previous visit. Some familiar faces from the Conqueror here too. Noted no Kentish beers on offer, bottled Magners cider on offer!

The pub is found in Ramsgate, Kent, CT11 9DS.
Micropub in York Street that opened on Good Friday 2013 on the site of the Hovelling Boat pub which closed in 1909 (and re-opened 104 years later). No lager or keg beers are sold here. Other past lives of the building have been as a florist's shop and a fancy gift shop. A menu of the beer and cider on offer is shown on a wall blackboard then your drink is fetched (with table service) from a back room having been served on gravity dispense there. Under new ownership in spring 2018.
