Saturday lunchtime. I was hoping to get the Caveman beer, but it had already sold out. I sat in the yard at the back drinking thirds (thirds !!!! brilliant idea) and enjoying the sunshine.
Canterbury Brewers - Kobold | 5.00 | | So good I had it twice. My kind of dark beer. |
Hopdaemon - Leviathan | 6.00 | | Last beer of the session and good strong heady beer. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Rye Pale Ale | 4.00 | | Spicy finish on a pale ale. |
Canterbury Brewers - Foundry Torpedo | 4.50 | | REally excellent bitter |
Goody Ales - Bleangate Brewery - Genesis | 3.50 | | I thought pretty tasty and could have happily had a few more |
Rockin Robin - Mildly Rockin | 3.70 | | Decent syrupy malty mild with good dark fruits |
Goody Ales - Bleangate Brewery - Good Health | 3.60 | | Not quite as good as the Genesis, but having had all their beers now, they are perfectly acceptable. |
Rockin Robin - Reliant Robin (superseded by 3.7% version) | 4.20 | | A bit like the mild but a bit more bitter and more hedgerow fruits. |

"The night conceals the world but reveals the universe" Oops! Sorry ive been overcome by all the ales........

Canterbury Brewers - Loco IPA | 3.90 | | I agree with "Kentish ale" here a wonderful IPA with amazing depth for a beer of this strength..... |

18:30 visit. Left work early to have a good session here, and not disappointed either. Well done to Pedro for listing all the ales. Nine available on the pumps in the main bar with the rest out the back on stillage. Another top beer selection by landlord Dave with the festival aptly titled, a Celebration of Kentish Ale!
Hopdaemon - Leviathan | 6.00 | | From the handpumps on the main bar. A rarely seen LocAle big un'. Very nice too. |
Canterbury Brewers - Street Light Porter | 5.80 | | A top ale from the Foundry. Sampled this one twice over. "A dark, malty porter with strong toffee-chocolates and a licorice finish. Hops: Goldings and Floral Willemette". |
Canterbury Brewers - Loco IPA | 3.90 | | "A super hoppy American style IPA, with a depth of flavour beyond its ABV". It sure was! Think BrewDog or a big Triple IPA from the U.S. Returned for more of this. Beer of the festival for me. |
Canterbury Brewers - Kobold | 5.00 | | Kobold Black Lager. "Cask conditioned and unpasteurised keg. This black lager mixes continental heritage with adventurous new world spirit. This is a flavourful beer style with a fine balance of smooth and dark malts and crisp hop finish". Another top ale from the Foundry. |
Dartford Wobbler (re-named from Millis) - Dartford Wobbler | 4.30 | | From the handpumps. Another rare bird around these parts. Good to sample this one again. |
Canterbury Brewers - Foundry Torpedo | 4.50 | | Another top Foundry ale. Very refreshing. |
Hop Fuzz - The English | 4.00 | | Another LocAle winner. |
Rockin Robin - Mildly Rockin | 3.70 | | Another fine example of this popular type from Robin, who was, by now, "mildy rockin"? A top man.
"A dark ruby coloured ale brewed with a blend of Fuggles and Golding Hops which deliver a beautiful rounded bitterness, with a fine hoppy bouquet". |
Hop Fuzz - Goldsmith | 4.00 | | Very refreshing. |
Rockin Robin - Reliant Robin (superseded by 3.7% version) | 4.20 | | Robin is being adventurous with his ales and it shows too. Very nice. "An Auburn coloured Best Bitter; it's richness is delivered from four malts, East Kent Golding give traditional notes on the palate and a fresh spicy finish". |
Hop Fuzz - Chocolatier | 4.20 | | Not too overpowering but still good. |
