Had no change for my bus home so decided to pop in the loco for a swift one hadn't been there for a while and fancied a pint of archers but alas none available only youngs or sheps and I fancied neither so had a pint of Heinkein instead pub was fairly quiet with some locals in 1630ish should imagine gets quite smokey when busy
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Banks's - Young's London Original (was Bitter) - previously brewed in Bedford and at Wychwood | 3.70 | Not Tried

Traditional working class pub in South Ashford, run by the parents of someone Andrew and me went to school with. A little smokey, but the beer is normally ok, Master Brew plus a guest. Reasonably busy for a Thursday evening.
Banks's - Young's London Original (was Bitter) - previously brewed in Bedford and at Wychwood | 3.70 | | This is the best pint of this I've had since the brewery moved. A bit yeasty, a bit hoppy, but needs more bite on end to be up to the best from Wandsworth. Needs a bit more body too, but it is getting there. |

I dropped by on the way back from The Beaver Inn hoping to pick up the Archer's beer, but it had sold out. Still it was reasonably quiet except for a couple of pool players and some locals singing along to the juke box.
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | | Slightly softer and creamier than the pint I had just had in The Beaver. Still very drinkable. |

Cracking deal at £1.80 a pint for Archers guest beer. Here with Andrew and bumped into someone we went to school with and haven't seen for nearly 20 years. Only stopped in for 1 whilst Andrew waited for his connecting train
Archers - IKB | 4.00 | | Copper coloured bitter. Some hop, some yeast, some caramel. Pretty standard bitter. Bit of earthiness on the finish |
15 Apr 2006 (Andrew)
Popped in with Ian between train connections. Large single roomed pub owned by the parents of someone I went to school with.
Archers - IKB | 4.00 | | As far as I can recall this tasted good. It was brown and creamy. Sorry, but I can't remember much more than that |

I was put on to this by Chris Excell who said that the pub was serving Archers beers at £1.80 a pint. Alistair had been here earlier in the day and said it was good. The beers are part of the Archers Locomotive Collection and change every 6-8 weeks. Early evening and not that busy, but still on the smokey side. Football was on the TV
Archers - Great Beer | 5.00 | | According to the landlord, this had only come on that day. Gold/copper with bubbly white head. Hop and white fruit flavour, full sweetish n mouth, dry floral finish. Sweetish on aroma. Good in mouth. Excellent strong bitter. |
