Very busy in the restaurant area on my customary lunchtime visit with my wife and 2 friends. The publican was in his usual good humour particularly because of the result on Tyneside on Monday!

Yet another worthwhile lunchtime visit with my wife and two friends. The pub was quite busy and some hardier folk even sat outside in the garden. Three real ales now available.

Went with my wife and 2 friends for our usual lunchtime meal which was very tasty and great value. It was quite quiet when we arrived at 12.30 but 2 other couples arrived soon for a meal and latterly some more came for a beer. The publican indicated that he was prepared to extend his range of ales in the future but probably staying at 2 real ales for the time being.

Visited pub at lunchtime with my wife and 2 friends for our usual OAP meal which once again proved to be tasty and great value. Only 2 others were there initially but 8 ramblers and some others soon arrived for a meal providing a lively atmosphere. The Geordie publican was most friendly and is clearly building up his clientele. He said that he is also prepared to ring the changes on the real ales available and there was a different one today.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Moorhouse's - Pride of Pendle4.10GoodA clear lighter ale with a sharp but pleasant edge to it.

Went to this pub at lunchtime with my wife and 2 friends. The new publican was installed and this was his second trading day. He offered a similar range of OAP food menu as the previous landlord (who had kept his imminent departure very close to his chest as we had been here only a fortnight ago and he had said nothing) and very good it was. The eating area filled up very quickly which made for a pleasant atmosphere.

The pub is found in Brook, Kent, TN25 5PG.

Allegedly built in 1609 this is an ancient house located in The Street. In 1804, the house was given the title the "Honest Miller", the significance of which dates back to the Saxons when a miller cheated the Romans by giving them a short measure. His ears were cut off as a penance and warning to others. After this millers not wishing to fall into the same category as their luckless and earless colleague hung a sign stating they were "Honest Millers". The pub has had many owners over the years. Re-opened in July 2024 after a period of 4 years or so of closure and changing ownership. Early signs are that it might not be selling cask ales.

We have visited this pub 86 times, seen 36 different beers and tried 28 of them.
