A very unusual red IPA with a great kick. Needed 2 ice to get it to an acceptable temperature though.

Went for breakfast at spoons on a hot morning for Lynnes birthday. However the beers were totally uninspiring. So to the Artillery for a much better selection.

Sooo different. Medicinal, floral, unusual beer. Bit warm.

Perhaps my expectations were raised by how the Red Lion can serve its cask in such hot weather. This came across to me as a bit of sour hopping and bit too warm which if cooler would (might) have balanced out the sourness of flavour

In good nick, very flavoursome but needed to be cooler.
A small corner pub on a hill, West Cliff Road, not far from the town centre. It has a rather rambling interior with the main seating area raised above the bar floor and a basement seating area too. Glorious stained glass street windows. 6 handpumps on the bar counter enhanced to make 9 in 2022.
We have visited this pub 574 times, seen 446 different beers and tried 355 of them.
