Very quiet early evening.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Fyne - Maverick4.20GoodLovely deep mahogany with creamy head. Spicy toffee apple flavours which didn't seem quite in balance. Drying spicy finish.

This pub is a complete contrast to the others that I had visited earlier in the evening, and as a lover of quiet traditional boozers this was not quite my cup of tea, but it is committed to good ale and well done to them for that.

Pretty much the same beers as the last visit.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Isle of Skye - Cuillin Beast7.00AcceptableChampion Beer of Scotland but not really to my taste. Overly sweet with dominating caramel and just a hint of fruit.

Quiet.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Golcar - Dark Mild3.20GoodPleasantly surprised to see this. It normally doesn't travel far from its brewpub home in Huddersfield. Dark brown almost black with long lasting thin head. Roasty on the nose with hints of coffe and chocolate in the mouth. Light hopping shines in the finish which long and moreish. Good body for 3.2%.

Quiet.
BeerABVScoreNotes
BrewDog - Rip Tide4.10AcceptableAt this strength it is more a chocolate mild than a stout. Good fruit on the nose, some burnt grain and chocolate in the mouth. Rather thin.

Early evening visit. Quite quiet. Not a lot to get excited about on the ale front.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Inveralmond - Independence3.80AcceptableOK golden ale. Some earthy tones with hints of honey. Seemed to last a long time.

BeerABVScoreNotes
Burnside - Black Katz3.60ExcellentMuch better than the aggressively bitter sample tried at The Marine on 14th May. Lasting beige head with enticing chocolate and roast grain aromas which carried through to the taste. Some red fruits and a hint of coffee led to a intriguing, slightly lactic, finish.

Not a great beer choice tonight.

The pub is found in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, AB11 5AA.

Rock and metal music bar on Trinity Quay, with friendly staff and customers. Unstinting commitment to real ale - usually five from mostly Scottish micros (often BrewDog) on. Lined glasses used. Excellent selection of keg beers on font and plenty of interesting bottles - think Rodenbach, Cantillon and the like. Real Cider too. One of the best bars in Scotland and probably Britain, The Moorings Bar is an Aberdeen 'must visit'. Renamed in 2015. In March 2020 decided to closed for the duration of the Coronavirus alerts.

We have visited this pub 141 times, seen 157 different beers and tried 91 of them.
