Regular Friday evening after-work jaunt. Landlord, Garrett, has this week implemented a scrolling plasma screen beer board listing and detailing the ales currently on and forthcoming events, rendering the trusty blackboard redundant. This will soon be linked up to the pub's website (which will be relaunched very soon) providing real-time online info on which beers are currently on sale.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Jaipur5.90Exceptional4th or 5th cask on sale in the last six weeks. The regulars can't get enough of it! Sold incredibly well for such a strong beer. Would never get bored of the whiffy hop aroma, punchy grapefruit and rasping dry finish. A Desert Island Ale.
Dark Star - Golden Gate4.50ExceptionalDull amber coloured Autumnal brew with trademark DS heavy/late hopping that leaves a dry, bitter finish. Eminently drinkable. Gorgeous.
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - Gale's HSB4.80ExcellentDeep brown malt-laden classic served to perfection. Mr Gale would have been proud.
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Juno4.60GoodCitric, zesty, cloudy wheat beer with a hint of banana and clove spices. A true palatable quaffer.
Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's)3.40Not TriedA virtual house regular, served by gravity more often than not.
