Busy early evening.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Copper Dragon - Golden Pippin3.90AcceptableSome hints of flavour but only hints.
Acorn - Blonde4.00PoorThis beer was in good condition but, surprisingly for Acorn, was lacking in both body and flavour. Too easy drinking by half.
Marston's - Wychwood Hobgoblin IPA (was Ruby Beer, was Hobgoblin)4.50Not Tried
Daleside - Bitter3.60Not Tried
Heineken - John Smith's Bitter (a.k.a. Cask and Original)3.80Not Tried
26 Dec 2009 (McGargle)
Packed early evening. Some watching muted big screen sport but most in for the crack.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Woodforde's - Wherry3.80AcceptableAgain far too cold. Floral, citrussy notes and good balance noted when it warmed up.
Rooster's - Hoppy Christmas4.00PoorServed far too cold but even when warmed up had little of interest. A golden ale with few hops and not much body.

The pub is found in Sowerby (Nr. Thirsk), North Yorkshire, YO7 1JN.

Recently refurbished village pub and strong supporter of SIBA's direct delivery scheme. Five hand pumps with one Rooster's beer, John Smith's and three 'micro' guests. Good food available in this friendly 'locals' pub.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 7 different beers and tried 4 of them.
