First stop of the day. We came by train, so it was an easy stop to make. Interesting service. We asked for a beer, were told it was off, as was the next one we asked for, so we asked which ones were on, and was told the first one we asked for was available. We asked for halves (it was going to be a long day) and got pints. Nice pub, although it reminded me, architecturally speaking, of a Victorian toilet.

I had been in Mirfield and wanted to travel back towards London by train. The overhead wires were down at Watford and planned engineering works meant that trains from Leeds were terminating at Retford so it seemed a good idea to go to Sheffield and miss a few trains home in here. Unfortunately football had just finished and the place was being swamped by football fans so I just had one and left before I could note all the beers that were on offer.

The pub is found in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S1 2BP.
Recently renovated pub in the former refreshment rooms at Sheffield railway station. Serves beers from Thornbridge brewery and a large range of other brews. Entrances from the front of the station as well as from the platforms. At January 2013 the pub was extended into a further part of the old refreshment rooms with floor to ceiling cream coloured original tiling. This extension also houses an in-house brewery "The Tapped Brew Co." which can be viewed over a neck high glass partition. The extension has three handpumps for special occasions and may be reserved for private functions.
