I actually had work reasons to be here, entertaining a small group of visitors from the Netherlands. I told them it was most unusual to go to the pub in work time, and was then embarrassed by a succession of work colleagues coming into the pub. Other beers were available.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dark Star - Hophead (some has also been brewed by Fuller's)3.80Excellent
Ilkley - Hanging Stone5.00GoodA decent Oatmeal Stout

Quite a session here after work with a good-sized group of work colleagues. This kind of thing is now rare and needs planning, rather than being part of the culture as it once was.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dark Star - Hophead (some has also been brewed by Fuller's)3.80ExcellentVery enjoyable.
Nethergate (was Nethergate Growler for a while then name reverted) - Umbel Magna5.00ExcellentI hadn’t drunk this for ages and had forgotten just what an excellent beer it is.

I had to see a man about a dog in the very early evening after work, and this seemed as good a place as any to conduct our business. I then found a couple of former work colleagues in situ, so it was good to catch up with them too.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Goose Eye - Blackmoor4.00GoodA chocolatey, black Mild.
Cotleigh - Long Eared Owl4.90AcceptableA straightforward brown Bitter.

After-work drink-up with some colleagues, not necessarily linked to today’s Article 50 milestone. I also drank a beer called ‘Aurora’ but did not note the brewery name.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Pheasantry - Stout4.80ExcellentA really good, black Stout.
Daleside - Stout4.20GoodHighly drinkable.
Adnams - Pleisure Principle3.40AcceptablePerhaps it’s just me and I’m missing something, but I thought this was a very ordinary pint.

I liked this place. Warm, bustling and friendly. Also had The Seeker (I think) trying to hide its Charles Wells provenace.

29 Oct 2014 (Stephen Harris)
This has been consistently the best pub in the area where I work for years now – so not obvious why I have become such an infrequent visitor. It’s just too near to the office for comfort I think.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Old School (OSB) - Absent IPA5.50ExcellentA really good, dry example of that rare breed, a full-strength, English IPA.

The Thursday evening mild drinkers filled up what would otherwise have been a quiet evening here.

The pub is found in Westminster, Central London, SW1P 2HA.

Traditional backstreet pub that is deservedly popular with locals and commuters alike. Good reputation for food and beer with frequent themed beer festivals through the two guest pumps. Very good selection of Milds in May. Look out for the caricatures of past Speakers and other politicians on the walls. This pub re-opened in November 2018 following refurbishment and a change of management.

We have visited this pub 18 times, seen 48 different beers and tried 36 of them.
