Lunchtime a few other folk scattered about. Once again a starting point for our pub tour today, with a couple of new ones for me. Always a joy to drink here, a proper boozer which understands the needs of its clientele by opting not to play unwanted, unneeded and unnecessary music. Bliss!

Unspoilt 1930s style interior, a quiet and relaxing retreat in Rutland Street. Serves Hoskins Brothers brewed beers and guests and cider. 2 distinct bar areas. The larger bar counter has 9 handpumps and the smaller counter has 3. In addition real ales are sometimes dispensed on the main bar counter from what look like keg taps on 2 T-bar fitments but which the pub owners insist are real ales in every way. Watch out for pump clips fitted to these taps.
