Early evening and busy in this proper locals boozer. Exactly as I remember it from my last visit over 15 years ago with the welcome heat from the crackling wood burning fire on a chilly late March evening. Unexciting beer range available detracts from the comfortable welcoming cosy atmosphere this pub imbues.

First visit and amazed such an opulent pub exists in suburbia. Quiet mid afternoon

I had never been here before, and I was impressed by the architecture, and somewhat surprised to note that it does not appear on any Camra list of unspoilt pubs.

The pub is found in Highgate, Greater London, N6 4AA.
Fabulous mock-Tudor building in North Road, dating from 1922. Dark wood panelled walls and bar back. The pub is famous for its "Swearing on the Horns" ceremony. Large open fireplace and bare-boarded throughout. Leaded lattice-work front windows. 4 handpumps.
We have visited this pub 5 times, seen 11 different beers and tried 5 of them.
