Very busy, long wait to be served, dreadfully short measure only begrudgingly topped up, excessively loud music, dirty tables. I could go on. Perhaps I visited at a bad moment.

With three different live international football matches on the multiple TVs, this pub was very busy at 9pm. In fact I nearly gave up waiting to be served.

Had planned to look at the magnificent bar back in the Rocket but the pub was wedged so came here and got a seat with ease. My first visit for many years. The marquetry panels surrounding the fireplace in the left hand side are noteworthy.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Southwark - Bankside Blonde3.80ExcellentSingle hopped with mosaic.
Big Penny (formerly Truman's) as of late 2022 contract brewed - Budburst4.20PoorHazy but I gave it the benefit of the doubt. Started well but it was a struggle to finish the pint.

Commuter time, busy.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Marston's - Revisionist Rye Pale Ale4.30GoodVery nice favour - but I was rather put off by the muddy appearance. That's a rye ale I guess.

There were a handful of blokes outside the front door having a beer before they got on a train (judging by their suitcases). The inside was a bit quieter with a handful of people enjoying a quiet pint.
