The big news here is that the in-house brewery has ceased production, for the time being at least, with brewer Angelo moving on to Brodie’s of Leyton. Apparently they have stock here to last for several weeks.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brew Wharf - Perpetual Motion3.80AcceptableAmber-coloured beer featuring UK Archer hops. But a bit bland I thought, over-chilled, malt-led and the hops struggling to be heard.
Brew Wharf - Kitchen Sink Porter4.80Not Tried
22 Jan 2014 (Stephen Harris)
Early evening and the pub is very sparsely populated. Lots of staff standing around with nothing to do. Odd, because neighbouring pubs are busy.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brew Wharf - Kitchen Sink Porter4.80ExcellentAn awful lot going on in this black porter. Dominated by a dry, roast coffee flavour, with a woody undercurrent and some nice hops.
Brew Wharf - Southwark Red5.00ExcellentDeep red in colour. Cascade and Amarillo hops giving a great flavour on top of juicy malts.
13 Nov 2013 (Stephen Harris)
Busy, verging on rowdy, in the early evening, with some City-types celebrating some sort of City stuff. Significant CAMRA discount still available.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brew Wharf - Hopfather II6.10ExcellentFierce, US West Coast-style IPA.
Brew Wharf - Sesquicentenniale5.00ExcellentDescribed as a Southern California Pale Ale, which I expected (in my naivety) to be fruity, but which actually was severely bitter. Citra hops shining through.
25 Sep 2013 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening towards end of the night. Difficult to find as poorly signed from the street. CAMRA discount most welcome and then makes it normal pricing rather than over-the-top.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brew Wharf - Totes Amaize Balls!4.60ExcellentA tad too chilled but warmed up quickly. A cream ale using Pale, Pils, Vienna, Oats and Flaked Maize hopped with Perle and Amarillo!
Brew Wharf - Bits & Bobs Pale5.20Not TriedBrewed using Pale, Simpsons "Imperial" and Carapils malts with Pioneer, Amarillo and Kohatu hops
17 Jul 2013 (Stephen Harris)
Very busy, with almost everybody outside in the expanded courtyard area.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brew Wharf - California Steamin'4.30AcceptableIn somewhat warm and tired condition – about the first sub-perfect pint I’ve been served here. I should probably blame the weather. It came over as a best bitter-type, with good hop flavours from Northern Brewer and Celeia, but this pint did not do it justice.
Brew Wharf - Saints & Sinners Imperial Jack7.20Not Tried
20 Jun 2013 (Stephen Harris)
Very busy early on a Thursday evening. I’m always telling people that this is the cheapest pub in Borough Market and nobody ever believes me. But at £3:60 (with CAMRA discount) for a pint of first class 7.2% beer, this must be the best value around.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brew Wharf - Saints & Sinners Imperial Jack7.20ExcellentThe straightforward version of this beer without the oak and vanilla. It is still an excellent, strong, dark chestnut-coloured, smooth, rich beer.
Brew Wharf - Erebus4.10Not Tried
09 May 2013 (Stephen Harris)
I chanced to meet a couple of good friends whilst shopping for groceries at Borough Market – so we all slipped in to here for a quick one.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brew Wharf - Mosaic Pale4.50ExcellentAmber-coloured, single-hop beer. Fruity hop tastes.
Brew Wharf - Erebus4.10Not Tried
22 Apr 2013 (Stephen Harris)
Early evening visit. It’s a bit cooler this evening, so all the customers are inside, which makes the space in front of the bar rather crowded. CAMRA members still get 40p off a pint.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brew Wharf - Erebus4.10ExcellentA full-flavoured, black stout.
Brew Wharf - Rudebwoy Red4.60ExcellentReddish colour, sweet malt, bucket-loads of US hops.
14 Feb 2013 (Stephen Harris)
A quiet early evening in here, with tables available in the main bar area.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Anspach & Hobday - Black dWharf5.20ExcellentAnspach & Hobday continue to brew their beers at Brew Wharf. This is a very fine, smooth, black, chocolaty porter with plenty of hops.
Brew Wharf - Over Reaktion4.80ExcellentAmber/gold in colour. A US West Coast pale ale with a big hop character.
29 Jan 2013 (Martin the Mildman)
Busy inside, cold outside.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brew Wharf - Rye Spelt Porter5.20GoodA very bitter and well hopped porter, black in colour with tangy rye malt and some citrus fruity hop. Full bodied with a strong bitter finish. My score 15/20.

The pub is found in Southwark, Central London, SE1 9AD.

Opened late September 2005 in between Vinopolis and Borough Market. Accessed from the street via an archway and a courtyard. Large lower ground bar with largish eating area under high vaulted brick ceilings. Feel of a large modern bar. Lots of exposed brick and also seating area out the front opposite the market. Serves Meantime Brewery keg beers from Greenwich and also brewed its own beers for a while. Range of world beers too. May be offering CAMRA card holders a discount so do ask. Real ales sold through 2 handpumps.

We have visited this pub 93 times, seen 98 different beers and tried 90 of them.
