Evening. Abortive visit as the building was hardly recognisable shrouded in scaffolding and firmly closed. Annoying as CAMRA's Whatpub.com entry said it had closed in December 2015 for refurbishment for 8 weeks. Is this a "fatal" closure one wonders!

I noted that the inner room was changed from previous visits. Maybe 30 guests around 9 in the evening.

Timothy Taylor - Landlord4.30ExcellentA favourite of mine. I'm glad they still have it on tap at Cleveland Arms.

Early evening visit. For a posh neighbourhood, this pub is noticeably reasonable with its pricing. And putting bowls of free peanuts on each table is a nice touch.

Phoenix - Monkeytown Mild3.90ExcellentVery dark in colour. Has a nice chocolaty taste combined with some slightly tart fruitiness, and then a bitter finish.

London is balmy and the Underground sings to friendly banter in overcrowded Games-laden carriages. A unique atmosphere. 2205 hours visit here - Quiz just at point of giving answers and marking papers.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Timothy Taylor - Landlord4.30ExcellentBetter than first one to the point of asking if cask had been changed which I was told it had not. Still a light caramel flavour rather than the dry hoppy bitter of TT old. Don't know
Beavertown - 8 Ball Rye IPA4.70ExcellentDelightfully dry bitter finish and £3.00 pp
Timothy Taylor - Landlord4.30GoodHHHHHHHHHHHmmmmmmmh. £3.15 pp. This first pint of TT was very lively and first reaction to the frothy pint was to find a head of extreme caramel. Have had this before recently but then the pint was warm and not right. This one settled down but the caramel taste majored

The pub is found in Paddington, Central London, W2 6DT.

Located in Chilworth Street. Back street local with a traditional feel and adorned with many artefacts. A couple of bench seats out of the front by the street. Main room with bar and smaller room to rear with pool table. Beers are national brands and one guest, usually 4 or 5 available, one of which rotates. A rather imposing stuffed boar's head adorns the wall above and behind the bar and wears both red indian feathered head-dress and sun glasses. Very reasonable prices for the area it is located in. Has won local CAMRA branch awards. Clearly the staff here work as a happy team. Reopened, after an extended period of refurbishment, in May 2017.

We have visited this pub 5 times, seen 7 different beers and tried 4 of them.
