Much needed refuel stop we opted for the small plates menu (choose 5 of a possible 8) and it was very good. Not too busy however we opted for the upstairs lounge which was quiet and comfy.

This was not originally on our list of places to visit but we needed something to eat. Spoons had no guest ales, the decent restaurants in the area were all closed so this seemed a good idea, and it was. Staff were welcoming, beers were good and we managed to get a room to ourselves to enjoy the food. I have not listed all the beers that were available but there was a fair selection from the Shepherd Neame range.

Mid afternoon and my first visit for many years, attentive and efficient staff made for a pleasant and I would say relaxed stay however were were perched on stools at a table with a loudspeaker prominent which made conversation hard work.

Afternoon visit. As table service was in operation I did not make a note of all the beers available but I think there were three Shepherd Neame beers on. Friendly service and a top up given with good grace.

I came here hoping to be able to get some Late Red but it was not one of the three beers on offer here so I settled for Master Brew. This is another pub that has been doing table service only since reopening and is as COVID safe as possible.

Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter3.70ExcellentVery good Master Brew, this was a fresh cask and occasionally we had to ask our waitress to take the glass back and get it filled to the brim. Topped up with good grace.

Two visits here today, one at lunchtime when I sat at a table by the window, and the second whilst waiting for a bus from the bottom of the road, this time we were directed to a table upstairs to comply with Covid rules which are strictly applied here. Table service so I did not make a note of all the beers that were on offer.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter3.70ExcellentVery good Master Brew, worthy of making a second visit here today.

I think this place is much nicer with the Covid restrictions, the awful trestle tables and benches have been replaced with nice drinking booth areas. A very nice atmosphere in here today with table service. I did not approach the bar so have not listed all the beers on offer.
