Visits Details

15 Jul 2025 (Jack William)
Late lunchtime visit. I took a 10 mile diversion on my cycle to Fort William to take in this GBG pub. Rather wish I hadn’t. Poor pint and £6. The back “Boot bar” was totally empty. The staff were offhand. The main front bar felt like a cafe and was full of tourists, but I suppose one shouldn’t complain when one’s part of the problem!

Glen Spean - Red Revival4.50PoorGot the red flavour, but this was stale. Struggled to finish it - but at £6 I forced myself to.

Wet outside, warm in. A busy, pleasant evening. Only beer change was Crofters replacing Williams 80/-.
BeerABVScoreNotes

At 7 o'clock the large public bar was absolutely heaving. Service was friendly and staff new their ales. Longish wait for food but worth it. Bench seating at long tables. A good night.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Williams Brothers - 80/-4.20GoodDeep ruby red. Smooth, sweetish malts with limited hopping. A good, typical 80/-.
Glenfinnan - Gold4.00AcceptableFairly standard golden ale with phenolic hints on the finish.
