My first visit since the previous Landlord left. Greatly changed. Redecorated in pastel shades more appropriate for an ice cream kiosk. The beer choice much reduced. No longer a range of local micros but the usual national blands.

14:30 My wife went to play on the Penny Falls and told me to wait in the pub. What a hardship. Steady trade with refugees from the NNR beer fest at the station.

15:00 A drink after a walk by the sea and a visit to the amusement arcade. Four others in. A sign outside says only Norfolk Real ales. Adnams and Greene King free zone. Excellent.

18:00 After a ride in the Quad-arts on the NNR we went for the train to Norwich only to find it had been cancelled following a bird strike at 11:30 in the morning. No fitter available for repair, no spare unit, no replacement bus. Pathetic. Pub only option.

14:30 Time for a drink after a morning enjoying the North Norfolk Railway Steam Gala. Pub fairly quiet. Visit happily coincided with pub's Norfolk Beer Festival.

Pleasant local just yards away from the sea front. Bar at one end and dining room at the other. Always appears to be popular and always has good Norfolk real ales on handpump.
