Pub 4 in the Larkin's tour. Penshurst is posh. So is the Leicester Arms. Ian asked the barmaid the age of the building so she went off to ask the chef. Maybe it was a special. Supertramp was on the stereo. Oh, the chef said the building was 1700's. Or maybe that they serve food from 17:00. Anyway, I liked the place.
Busy with drinkers, diners and dogs on a damp post Storm Eunice Saturday lunchtime.

A brief halt for a pint in the garden mid-walk between Hever and Tonbridge. Clearly a venerable pub.

In High Street, situated by the church, this pub took hotel status in its name after a refurbishment in late 2013 with 13 en-suite rooms. Non-dining customers are welcome in the bar. Closed for refurbishment on 22nd October 2023 for a number of weeks prior to new operators Little & Large Pub Company taking over the running.
We have visited this pub 6 times, seen 8 different beers and tried 4 of them.
