Early Sunday evening and I ended up playing with a couple of dogs owned by one of the locals. Friendly welcome and I really liked the stillage. Food looked good too.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Batemans - Salem Porter4.70GoodVery dark brown/black, no head. Bit like an old ale, quite sour with prune fruit flavour. Some raisin. Quite a lot of flavour on the finish. A proper sour porter. Sour prune finish. Odd, but good to have. Bit of coffee throughout too.

The pub is found in Wareside, Hertfordshire, SG12 7QY.

Lovely pub in Ware Road, in an attractive village with several rooms with a real fire. Three distinct bars. Restaurant area. 8 cask gravity stillage serves the beer. Low beams and ceiling, but the cream walls make it feel bigger.

We have visited this pub 3 times, seen 7 different beers and tried 4 of them.
