13:30 Just been to the Battle of the Bangers, part of the Norwich food festival. Came here for a sit down. Very quiet considering the crowds in Chapelfield Gardens 100 yards away.

21:45 Post theatre drink. Men in football kit blocking the bar which was a bit of a pain. Noteworthy that as a Greene King tied house there wasn't a single badged Greene King beer on sale.

22:00 My first visit for over six months. Major changes. New sign and gastro grey paint throughout. Fancy mirrors and craft fizz. Food now big feature. That said the booth seating is still in situ and the magnificent mirror still has pride of place. The pub was far busier than I have seen it. Normally only fills up as the cast and orchestra escape from the Theatre Royal. Despite the changes the pub did get busy with the musicians, opera singers and even the stage hands.

21:15 Post theatre, quieter than usual as the show was family entertainment with a small cast so not so many pub-goers after the show. Three young Americans came in as I went for my second pint. I have never waited so long. Their round ordering was the most drawn out I have ever seen.
