12:45 Looking for lunch and came here as it had been some time since I last visited. Just two others in when we first got there. The menu is very interesting as the chef is keen to use fresh seasonal food. Rabbit, beef skirt, cockles and sweetbreads were on offer. Conversation with the barmaid and the other customers centred on unusual foods eaten. I won with a meal of nerves I ate in Italy.

Beautiful old pub in an interesting position surrounded by a modern estate. We all decided this was our favourite place of the day.

25 Feb 2012 (Martin the Mildman)
A few locals and passing trade keeping the pub ticking over.
Milton - Nike4.70AcceptableRusset coloured strong bitter with a moderately hoppy bitter flavour and a little malt. Dry finish. My score 14/20.
Jo C's - Norfolk Kiwi3.80PoorUnfortunately a very bitter and phenolic taste to this beer. Certainly not to my taste. My score 8/20.
