A crowd of us gathered here after a visit to the nearby Titanic Brewery, fortunately it was fairly quiet as the Port Vale fans had departed for the football match. A truly superb pub and Bob the Manager kindly gave some of us a lift to Longport Station (which used to be called Burslem before they built another one in the town centre only for that one to be closed in 1964). My fountain pen had run out of ink and my 'phone was out of battery so I did not make a note of all the beers available but a good range of Titanic cask and keg beers were available along with a good selection of Cotleigh ales.

Opening time at 12:00 and both bars of the pub became busy within a few minutes. I find that Burslem's pubs seem to be either excellent or absolutely awful with nothing in between, this is one of the excellent ones.

Titanic - Steerage3.80Excellent
Luna - 1966 Once in a Blue Moon4.00ExcellentI think Luna is a joint venture between Titanic and White Horse Breweries but no doubt Mr. Pirrip will correct me if I am wrong. An excellent hoppy beer, moreish and worthy of a second pint.
Robinsons - Everards Tiger4.20GoodI tried this out of curiosity to see whether it had changed since being brewed by Robinson's. Personally I thought the taste bore no relation to the Tiger with which I am familiar, the guv in the pub informed me that it is the only amber coloured beer that sells in this pub, everything has to be either pale or very dark or they won't drink it. This being the only exception and that sales have increased considerably since being brewed by Robinson's. The only downside from his point of view is that it does not keep as long the Everard's brew.

A good visit from 12:00 opening for about three hours, we sat in the right hand bar which boasts Devil among the Taylors, Bar Billiards and a 45rpm juke box. We purchased some superb pork pies to accompany our beer. I noticed that a micropub has opened opposite this pub but I will leave that one for another day.

Evening visit, friendly and efficient bar staff. I was tempted to play some vinyl on the 45rpm juke box but I was afraid that Charlie Drake's "My Boomerang Won't Come Back" might get me thrown out. This pub is now a regular stockist of Harvey's Elizabethan Ale in bottles.
