Late afternoon visit and very quiet here. A rather religious silence prevailed. With reduction of Old Rosie cider's abv from 7.3% to 6.8% the pumpclip here needs changing as does the wall blackboard ad.

Saturday afternoon and fairly quiet with indifferent service. We appeared to be the only ones drinking cask ales, I was disappointed to find no amber or dark ales on sale.

Ossett - Yorkshire Blonde | 3.90 | Not Tried
Backyard - Blonde | 4.10 | Not Tried

Evening just as the Wolves supporters were leaving to go to the ground for a home match.
Hobsons - Best Bitter | 3.80
Wadworth - 6X | 4.10 | Not Tried

14:50 Just three others in. Friendly welcome from the barman and the regulars. The bank of snob screens in the former corridor drinking area is a nice survivor. CAMRA's Pub Heritage website only lists nine pubs with them in the country.
Pig Iron - A.P.A. | 4.50 | | Described as an American Pale Ale. Far too malty and not enough hops to warrant the description. |
Hobsons - Best Bitter | 3.80 | Not Tried
Hobsons - Town Crier | 4.50 | Not Tried
Banks's - Young's London Original (was Bitter) - previously brewed in Bedford and at Wychwood | 3.70 | Not Tried
Pig Iron - Blonde | 3.80 | Not Tried

Adnams - Ghost Ship | 4.50 | Not Tried
29 Dec 2013 (Stephen Harris)
Twenty-five years since my last visit to this pub. Jam packed immediately after a match at Molineux. We ignored the ‘No Away Fans’ signs and squeezed in, to a warm welcome. But a bit too crowded for comfort.
Castle Rock - Harvest Pale | 3.80 | | Always a reliably excellent pint in my view. |
Hobsons - Best Bitter | 3.80 | Not Tried
Lancaster - Blonde | 4.00 | Not Tried

2000 hours visit. Perhaps half a dozen drinkers in all. I always find the beer range here disappointing coming from national brands. Friendly welcome upon arrival and a friendly goodbye on departure.
Adnams - Southwold Bitter | 3.70 | | Served with a tight sparkler which ripped the guts out of this beer. All the bitterness migrated to the head and part way down the glass all that was left was a metallic flavour. Adnams is not a beer to be served this way on any account |
Greene King - IPA (was 3.6%) | 3.40 | Not Tried
Jennings (since closure now brewed at Marston's) - Cumberland Ale | 4.00 | Not Tried
Sharp's - Doom Bar | 4.00 | Not Tried
Banks's - Tetley's Dark Mild | 3.20 | Not Tried
