Mid afternoon and a fair few others dotted about both inside and the sun trap rear terrace. Friendly and welcoming back street local, despite previous reports of refurbishment it still has a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.

A pub that has been off my radar for some time but I heard good reports from friends from up North who had stayed in a nearby hotel so I decided to pay a visit. A few customers eating in the left hand side and a couple at the bar, very enthusiastic and chatty barmaid.

Lunchtime and only a few customers in, unfortunately one of them was tapping away on a mobile phone that beeped so loudly that you could even hear it in the toilets. I drank up and left.
