We arrived at 12:20 to find the pub closed although the 2015 Good Beer Guide says it opens at 12:00. We were about to move on when the landlord came out and said he would open up for us although the normal opening time is 15:00. We were made very welcome.

About The Bricklayers Arms

The pub sign. The Bricklayers Arms, Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire

Summary of Beer Scores

The pub is found in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, CM23 2QY.

In Hadham Road, this pub was present by 1850, possibly earlier, and stands a few minutesí walk away from the town centre in an area which once had a brick-making industry. It remains a highly traditional house, with separate lounge and public bars, each with its own servery. There is a also an outdoor seating area at the rear. A good supporter of local breweries. Pub under threat in spring 2017 following an application made to demolish and replace with residential.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 6 different beers and tried 3 of them.
