Noon on a cold and windy Sunday. The pub filled up with locals and walkers.The landlord and barman were a mine of information on old houses, fireplaces, dogs and jackdaws.Wonderful game based meals and prime beer.My kind of pub.Famously, no lager beer is sold, but there were some interesting looking bottles of Belgian exotica.

The pub is found in Wardlow Mires, Derbyshire, SK17 8RW.
A unique stonebuilt roadside pub, with an interior listed in the CAMRA Inventory of unspoilt pubs. Two small rooms, a range and open fire, flagstones and plenty of dogs. The owners run a highly regarded pottery. The pub is only open on Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturdays and Sundays.
