Nothing Like as busy as the Town of Ramsgate thankfully for this mid-evening visit. Met up with a party of seven others from SE London in this Samuel Smith's pub which unusually had a cask on. Good prompt service.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Samuel Smith's - Old Brewery Bitter4.00GoodDrawn from an oak cask as advertised on the pump clip. Very good head and lacing with a pleasantly bitter mouthfeel and undoubtedly somewhat woody also in flavouring. The one and only cask on as others are from the Samuel Smith's keg range including their own type of stout which is probably just as well given reported supply issues to pubs currently with Guinness.

Quiet and relaxed in mid-afternoon.

Quite crowded here in the early evening, especially out on the terrace. By luck I managed to get a table by the window.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Samuel Smith's - Old Brewery Bitter4.00AcceptableA rather lacklustre beer.

I moved on here with the CAMRA group and was not the only one to shun the real ale and choose one of Sam Smiths better quality (and much more expensive) bottled beers instead. We liked this pub and lingered here. I made my excuses at about 9:15 and left the group to the remaining three pubs on their list.

Samuel Smith's - Taddy Porter5.00GoodPoured from a bottle. A decent enough Porter.

This pub has had its ups and downs since it opened in a former warehouse in 1990. The lowpoint being when real ale was withdrawn for a few years. Currently popular and busy, and perhaps at its best on a sunny Sunday late afternoon.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Samuel Smith's - Old Brewery Bitter4.00AcceptableDistinctive, creamy Yorkshire ale, on good form here, if not really to my taste.

Evening visit. Did not take to this pub - not sure what it is trying to be. Several tables I tried were mucky with liquids. Soon drank up and left.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Samuel Smith's - Old Brewery Bitter4.00ExcellentIn fine form and no problem with full measure. £2.90 pp

The pub is found in Wapping, Greater London, E1W 2NE.

Located in Wapping High Street. One might think that this is an ancient, riverside pub. In fact it is a former warehouse, converted to pub use in 1988. A pub right on Thameside with a riverside terrace at the rear where you can almost lean over and touch the water at high tide. Has seating on various levels and an outside area beside the river. Real ale limited to Samuel Smith's range. Busy food trade.

We have visited this pub 6 times, seen 2 different beers and tried both.
