18:00 visit. Our driver chose this half-way stop en-route to home. A very nice place, with a well modernised interior, plenty of original, and not so original oak beams. A large restaurant to one side. We sat by the huge Inglenook fireplace. A good local crowd too. Interestingly, the entry for this in the 1999 Kent pub guide says; "Beware: beers are served under blanket pressure". I dont even know what that means, but times have certainly changed since those days?

The building dates from the 1500s, originally a farmhouse, divided into several dwellings, became a pub in 1718. Featuring a very large inglenook fireplace, which would originally have been a part of the kitchen. Closed early 2024 with reason not known.

We have visited this pub once, seen 4 different beers and tried 1 of them.
