25 Dec 2019 (Philip Pirrip)
A lunchtime sojourn. All tables taken with diners. Seems this place shoots itself in the foot each year - had advertised opening times as 12-5 but was refusing drinks only customers from 3.30 - how un-customer-friendly and misleading. A number of new entrants looked most downcast when refused service.

Wimbledon - Copper Leaf | 4.00 | Not Tried
25 Dec 2017 (Philip Pirrip)
A rare Christmas Day outing. Efficient cheery bar staff but place let down by once a year drinkers accepting some appalling ale short measures, lack of a potperson clearing tables heaving with dead glasses and, although signage outside declared "Festive hours 12 - 5.30", potential "walk-in" customers without a table booking were refused service from 3.30. Senseless!
Old Dairy - Blue Top | 4.80
Mad Squirrel (formerly Red Squirrel) - Roadkill Opaque IPA | 6.50 | | Certainly opaque, like a farmhouse gate scrumpy cider. Vicious smack in the face hopping not really to my taste but I stuck with it and actually sort of enjoyed the pineapple notes |
Old Dairy - Red Top | 3.80 | | Quite lacklustre |
Greene King - IPA | 3.60 | Not Tried
Sambrook's - Junction | 4.50 | Not Tried
Sambrook's - Pumphouse Pale Ale | 4.20 | Not Tried
Greene King - Hare Ale (house beer) | 3.90 | Not Tried
Truman's - Roll Out The Barrel | 4.20 | Not Tried
Sambrook's - American Red Ale | 4.20 | Not Tried
18 Jun 2016 (Philip Pirrip)
Late evening. Entrance refused at 11.40pm. The manager said a recent change in Lewisham Council's licensing conditions for this pub meant no new customer could be served after 11pm. The pub's website makes no reference to this in showing midnight close.
27 Nov 2015 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening until close. Sadly all stools except mine were on tables by the time I left.
Great Heck - Chopper | 3.80
Greene King - IPA | 3.60 | Not Tried

Caveman (latterly a cuckoo at Leatherbritches) - Palaeolithic | 3.80 | Not Tried
TicketyBrew - Table IPA | 2.80 | Not Tried | A taster implied a certain aceticness |
Hop Stuff - Oatmeal Stout | 4.80 | Not Tried
Truman's - Gunboat Smith | 5.20 | Not Tried
Bedlam - Pilgrim | 3.70 | Not Tried
29 Sep 2015 (Philip Pirrip)

18 Sep 2015 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening until close. Hoped for some more Five Points Railway Porter but had run out earlier in the evening.
Bristol Beer Factory - Milk Stout | 4.50 | | Newly on but too fresh and clip left turned round after mine was pulled. Sickly too |
Greene King - IPA | 3.60 | Not Tried
Otley - O12 Thai-Bo | 4.60 | Not Tried
XT Brewing - No. 3 Indian Pale | 4.20 | Not Tried
Greene King - Crouch, Bind, Set | 3.90 | Not Tried | No Greene King provenance on clip - why hide it? Almost certainly the rebadged Greene King house beer usually sold here as Hare Ale - all for the Rugby World Cup. And people were buying it! |

Sharp's - Rising Tide | 4.20 | Not Tried
17 Sep 2015 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening until (for me) an unexpectedly late midnight close.
Five Points - Railway Porter | 4.80 | | First rate - so much so that one turned into two, three then four. But at an excruciating price of £4.50pp for a beer that will be subject to a low PBD rate |
Greene King - IPA | 3.60 | Not Tried
Otley - O3 Boss | 4.40 | Not Tried
Sambrook's - Pumphouse Pale Ale | 4.20 | Not Tried
Magic Rock - Carnival | 4.30 | Not Tried

Cottage - Blindside | 4.20 | Not Tried | Allegedly Cottage's millionth different beer name |
Celt Experience (now brands are owned by Evans Evans) - The Afanc | 4.50 | Not Tried
