Visits Details

05 Apr 2025 (Hogan Sampling)
Busy for our early evening timing, and the third and final visit of the outing, and to primarily get some food to stoke our boilers after all that earlier walking from Shalford to Bramley and from there to Godalming and also to soak up all those earlier fine real ales. But a table to be had in this vast Spoons and the usual prompt service was delivered. Only two guest ales on but that made making my mind up that much easier.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Tring - Tea Kettle Stout4.70GoodHad a taster and much enjoyed and so a pint followed to help wash the curry down with it. Good creamy head and lacing and lasting throughout on this stout from Tring, north-west of St Albans. A dry malty first hit. A bitterness then presented itself in the mouthfeel with a touch of chocolate in amongst the roasted malty flavourings. Just an on-going dry maltiness remained as it was soon devoured with the Spoons' cuisine. A direct train back to London courtesy of a local station just some 5 minutes away and took all of 45 minutes as only stopped at Guildford and Woking before London Waterloo.

My first visit here and I thought it was a very nice Spoons. Guest beers were just £1.99 per pint or £1.49 with a voucher. Great value for Surrey.
