First time visit. Situated out in the arse-end of nowhere down tight country lanes. Looks deceptively huge from the outside. Inside it's pleasant and was hush-quiet on a Saturday lunchtime despite most tables being taken. Currently undergoing major landscaping in the garden. Two handpulled ciders were the only standout feature, ale range nothing special with two on (plus what looked like the back of a Westerham clip on the third ale pump). Can't envisage a repeat visit any time soon.

Quite a long pub with bar and seating at one end with a real fire and more tables and seating down the other end with a dart board. Low ceiling and wooden beams. Quite quiet on a Saturday lunchtime, but then again it is a fair bit out in the countryside.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Hogs Back - Advent Ale4.40GoodRuby beer, with tan head. Choccy malt. Quite smooth, bit of port wine. Nice enough, supping strong mild. Not huge hop. Bit of dark syrup
Cottage - Brunel's Eastern4.80PoorClearly bottom of the barrel as the barmaid had to really pump the beer engine to get the beer out. It was hazy as well. Bit of farty yeast and some citrus sweet fruit in mouth. Unattractive.
