Echoing ChrisE's review 3.5 years ago am pleased to reassure the thrifty minded that the price has only gone up by 10p. Sadly just the one cask ale today but 3 more on the tempting 'coming soon' list.

My first visit since this pub has been owned and run by the community. I had heard various reports about it being gastro and expensive with beer at £5 per pint. I was pleasantly surprised, they seem to have done a good job here and the beer was £4 per pint. There are four handpumps, at the time of my visit two of them had the clips turned round but I had a look and they were for Gadds' No.5 and Black Pearl, hopefully these will be coming soon.

Saturday lunchtime and there were a few people in having lunch and a couple playing the fruit-machine. There were 4 hand pumps on the bar but only one badged up. Anyway, I liked the pub.

The pub is found in Ash, Kent, CT3 2ET.

In Chequer Lane, Grade II listed, was for a long time a long single roomed bar with a large ornate bar in the centre with a varied collection of seating. Closed for a long time but by 2018 bought by the local community with plans to re-open, perhaps in the first half of 2019. Re-opened in July 2019 as a community owned pub. It is now mainly food led with a small restaurant area at the back. Large garden with a Bat & Trap pitch. Closed again for a while and now reopened again in late 2022. Another closure then re-opened in spring 2024.

We have visited this pub 3 times, seen 4 different beers and tried 3 of them.
