I had managed to misread the train timetable and arrived at Uckfield station 58 minutes early for my train (or two minutes late, if you insist) and reached the conclusion that this the most obvious waiting room. Quiet in the early evening, with Rugby Union on TV and a few families dining.

Evening. Older people in The Alma Arms and all the younger people were here. Genuine friendly welcome and farewell. Bar staff were all as bright as buttons.
