Just 2 ales on and not at their best. Expensive.
Timothy Taylor - Knowle Spring | 4.20 | | Far too cold. Yeasty. The Harvey's best wasn't much better. |
06 Jan 2020 (Dosser)
4 beers on and Dom from steph and dom show drinking and eating here.
Pig & Porter - Stone Free | 4.30 | | Nice |
08 Jun 2014 (Stephen Harris)
Late lunchtime visit and still quite busy with diners – no room either in the nice-looking beer garden
Wantsum - Dynamo (superseded by 4.3% version) | 4.60 | | Amber-coloured and with a soft mouthfeel. Malty and citrus fruity. But this pint not in great condition and flavours muted. |
Butcombe - Bitter (or Original Beer) | 4.00 | Not Tried
Brains - The Rev James Original | 4.50 | Not Tried
Otter - Amber | 4.00 | Not Tried
29 Aug 2010 (Alenomore)
A proper, but well modernised back street local, and literally, amongst a terrace of houses. Very nice too.
Cottage - Golden Arrow | 4.50 | | A nice sample had. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Butcombe - Gold | 4.40 | Not Tried
03 Jun 2007 (Andrew)
Came for Sunday lunch with Jane, her mum and her brother. Nice place with good food.
Timothy Taylor - Landlord | 4.30 | | Bottom of the barrel, cloudy but nothing wrong with the taste if a little tired. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Marston's - Bass | 4.40 | Not Tried

There were a number of people eating and a number at the bar when we arrived. The landlord was pleasant and the food was good. It was a total contrast to the Market Inn as here the conversation around the bar was about old school ties.
Brakspear (at Marston's Wychwood) - Bitter | 3.40 | | A soft brown bitter. Not much more to say about it than that other than it was quiet palatable. |
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Timothy Taylor - Landlord | 4.30 | Not Tried
