This was a Camra favourite and regular GBG entry back in the 1970s yet I had never been here so it was a must visit on my first ever visit to Rainham Kent. A proper pub with a regular clientele, I really enjoyed here and had a good chat with the long standing landlord.

Normally available but I understand that a recent delivery had a problem and all had to be poured down the drain and refunded by the brewery. A fresh batch was getting ready in the cellar.

Popped in at 1.30pm Sunday afternoon to watch the England rugby game. Only three others in on arrival but a steady stream of locals came and went.

Evening. A late closer here it seems. Last stop on an Upchurch to Rainham walk.
Just north of the railway station and level crossing. A single roomed community pub with 2 front entrance doors. Impressive large garden. Comfortable decor, sports TV with 4 handpumps on the bar counter. Late closing times for the area.
We have visited this pub 5 times, seen 9 different beers and tried 8 of them.
