A rambling building formerly the Woodman, it was built in 1845 but was demolished and rebuilt in 1931 when large-scale building began in the area. Recently renamed after the original landlord. Used by many in the old days as a sliproad roadhouse just off the A2 Rochester Way. Very large inside and a major emphasis on TV screens for sport. Refurbished and relaunched in December 2018.

We have visited this pub 11 times, seen 33 different beers and tried 11 of them.
