I popped in during the early evening to see what goes on here these days. First I spotted Crystal Palace Brian at one of the tables and then he told me that there was a Meet the Brewer thing going on with Lost + Found Brewery of Horsham. So a quick visit turned into quite a long one.

I read recently that London now has in excess of 90 breweries and will soon pass the 100 mark. I resolved whilst sitting here to try to visit them all in 2017 – an impossible task I suspect as some will not be visitable and I may have to count ‘Meet the Brewer’ events. A quick headcount suggests that I am now on ten and a half for the year (ten breweries/taps visited plus one meet the brewer event) without really trying. No doubt it will become increasingly difficult.

I was in danger of melting by just walking here from Temple station, so pleased to note that it was cooler in than out. I ran in to Colin G here, who I have not seen since Sunday – amazing how much news we had to exchange after just three days.

Evening. Unusual to find somewhere with this industrial chic decor style so near the heart of the City. Sad to see Adnams Southwold Bitter on keg - cask and keg beers should never have the same name as this is brand dilution and misleading to the unwary.

The pub is found in Temple, Central London, WC2R 3JF.
Basement brewpub, opened in November 2014 in a premises in Essex Street that has had a variety of previous lives under various themes. The brew kit is very visible on the way in, on two levels. The bar itself is decorated in the sort of urban/industrial chic that you might expect to see in Hackney Wick or Rotterdam. Tables split between those laid for diners and space for drinkers. Bench seating and a mixture of rough and ready tables (some trestle style) and chairs. This is a sister pub to the Cambridge Brew House. 6 handpumps and 16 keg taps. Re-opened late February 2022 after a long period of closure.
We have visited this pub 16 times, seen 39 different beers and tried 22 of them.
